Paul Derksen, Agricultural / Rural Development Specialist
Paul has been involved in international development initiatives since 1991. Most recently, he was the project director for agricultural market information projects in Cambodia and Vietnam as well as for a food security project in northern Ghana. Paul has also served as the long-term field manager for agricultural and rural development projects in Bangladesh and Tibet. His practical agricultural background includes the ownership and operation of a 1000-hectare grain and cattle farm in Manitoba, as well the coordination of farm management training programs through Assiniboine Community College in Brandon, Manitoba. Paul has worked on agricultural projects in Bangladesh, Botswana, Cambodia, Chile, China, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Vietnam.
