The Team

Geri Burkholder, Project Manager, Early Childhood Enhancement Project (ECEEP), Egypt

Geri is an organizational development professional with more than 18 years of international development experience, with a special focus on enhancing management policy in the fields of education and agriculture. Her background in rural development and sustainable livelihoods complemented her capacity and organizational development experience to support farmer-responsive mechanisms in research and extension in the recently completed Farmers Project in Tamale, Ghana. Geri is familiar with all aspects of the project management cycle, having worked in project inception and design, implementation, monitoring and performance assessment. She has been the field director on six long-term assignments in China, Malawi, Uganda and Ghana and is currently project manager for the Early Childhood Enhancement Project (ECEEP) in Cairo, Egypt. Her work has included professional development in teacher training, post-secondary faculty development, girls’ education at the primary and junior secondary levels, and early childhood education. Many of her education enhancement experiences have included improving participatory approaches between public sector service providers and civil society. Geri holds a MSc in Change Management from Imperial College, University of London, and a BA in International Relations from the University of British Columbia.
