Tibet Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China, Bombardier Tibet Tourism Training Program: July 2007–August 2010

Agriteam is presently managing this scholarship program to train Tibetan students—economically disadvantaged recent high school graduate trainees from rural areas of Tibet—in hotel and restaurant management.

Republic of the Philippines, Private Enterprise Accelerated Resources Linkages Project Phase 2 (PEARL2): January 2002–November 2008

PEARL2 supports the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to create a meaningful jobs for both men and women in the Philippines. The principal clients are Business Support Organizations (BSOs) and Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs). PEARL2 is a five-year project, with a budget of approximately C$8.6 million provided by the Canadian International Development Agency in conjunction with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and National Economic Development Authority.

Canada, Feasibility Analysis for Hog Production in Alberta (Taiwan Sugar Corporation): January 1999–December 1999

Agriteam assessed the feasibility of establishing a large, state-of-the-art, privately owned hog operation in Alberta. This included economic, financial and environmental assessments.

 

Canada, Evaluation of Company Brand Promotion Program (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada): January 1998–December 1998

Agriteam assessed the performance of a federal program supporting the promotion of Canadian-branded agrifood products for export.

 

Canada, Market Research and Development for Muskox Meat and Quiviuq: January 1997–December 1997

Sector: Private Sector Development
Region: Americas and the Caribbean

Market Research and Development for Muskox Meat and Quiviuq (Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, N.W.T.) conducted international market research, identified potential buyers, and negotiated the first large-scale production and marketing of muskox meat and fibre, as part of a program to ensure sustainable management of the Inuvialuit muskox herd.

 

Canada, Training and Technology Transfer Needs Assessment, Western Canada (WED): January 1992–December 1992

Assessed the need among agricultural firms in Western Canada for assistance in developing and executing training and technology transfer programs to enhance export sales.

 

Laos, Lao Kaset Samphan Silk Farming Project, Laos PDR (CIDA INC): February 1992–December 1992

Prepared a feasibility study on the proposed development of mulberry tree plantations in Vientiane Province to produce high quality silk cocoons.

Facilitated long-term business collaborations between Canadian and Uruguayan firms in the food processing industry.

 

Uruguay, Uruguay Meat Industrialization Study: January 1987–December 1987

Assisted the Government of Uruguay to increase beef exports by developing an overall marketing strategy, helping to implement it and laying the groundwork for Canada-Uruguay joint venture activities.
